These two books come courtesy of one of my incredible students from last year who thought I might love them and boy, was he right. Both books are filled with action right from the beginning. Variant (the 1st book) leaves you wondering who our main character is and what in the world is happening. Bottom line: Full of action and some violence, for more mature 5th graders.
