Ruby On the Outside #BookADay

I am cheating because  I finished this gem of a book two days ago and the forgot to post about it by itself, because I did write about it in this post.  I really liked Ruby On the Outside, it was an accessible story that handles a mature subject matter (parent in prison) in a  way that means that this book can be placed in a 4th grade and up library but is also meaningful to a middle schooler.  This is one of those books that needed to be written and I am glad that it was.
